David Shofi

Chief Intellectual Property Counsel
ATMI

David Shofi joined ATMI in May of 2006 and has been Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for the company since July of 2007.  He has over 15 years of broad experience in intellectual property issues including patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright.  David’s areas of expertise span IP portfolio management, open source software, standards, IP licensing and antitrust.  He has practiced in the prosecution, transactional and litigation areas and has managed various teams of IP professionals.  David earned his law degree from Pace University School of Law in 1994 and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in 1988.  Prior to joining ATMI, he was an IP Counsel and attorney for IBM Corporation in Yorktown, Somers and Fishkill, NY and an associate at Baker Botts (previously Brumbaugh, Graves, Donohue and Raymond) in New York City.
