Dr. Shafiq Rab is a forward thinking, business-oriented, Lean Six Sigma experienced, and customer focused health care leader with 15 plus years. Expertise as a CIO includes:  Directing and managing advanced, growing healthcare organizations and providing strategic leadership and vision, clinical and healthcare transformation, IT governance, mergers & acquisitions.  Building a new hospital IT Infrastructure and aligning technology and business goals are one of his most current accomplishments.
Prior to his position at Orange Regional, he held several senior executive positions including St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey, where he was Vice President Information Technology and Chief Information Officer and at Carrier Clinic and East Mountain Hospital.

Specialties include: measuring and maximizing IT value, budgetary and operations strategy and management, operational turnaround, enterprise business integration, architecture and infrastructure design/implementation, virtualization, planning, organizing and team building.  Shafiq has specialized expertise in physician relationship and transforming the entire technology strategy.

Dr. Rab is one of the founding members of HIMSS New Jersey Chapter and a former Board Member.  He is also the founding Member of NJShore (Organization to Support and Help HIPAA). He is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives; American Health Information Management Association; New Jersey Public Health Association; Information Technology Steering Committee of Taconic Health Information Network and Community (THINC) and a former Board member of the New Jersey Chapter of the Health Information Management Systems Society. He is an active member of CHIME and HIMSS.
