Charles Podesta Charles Podesta joined Fletcher Allen Health Care in June of 2008 as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Through a vital partnership, Fletcher Allen Health Care, the University Of Vermont College Of Medicine and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences form Vermont’s academic medical center – one of just 125 such centers in the country. Fletcher Allen is Stage 6 on HIMSS EMR Adoption scale with a successful implementation of Epic EHR in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. Fletcher Allen is one of the nation’s 100 hospitals that has registered and will attest Meaningful Use in 2011. Mr Podesta has over 28 years of health care information technology experience and came to Fletcher Allen from Caritas Christi Health Care now Steward Health Care in Brighton, MA where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Steward Health Care is the second largest health care system in New England with six hospitals serving eastern Massachusetts. Podesta has held senior management positions at Berkshire Health Systems in Pittsfield, MA and Baystate Health in Springfield, MA. Over the years, Mr Podesta has made numerous presentations at national conferences and is quoted widely in healthcare publications on a variety of IT topics. |
