Richard Mohnk
Associate CIO
UMASS MEMORIAL HEALTH CARE

Mr. Mohnk completed his undergraduate studies in Medical Technology from Saginaw Valley State University in 1980 and earned his master's degree in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University in 1987.  He is the Associate Chief Information Officer at UMass Memorial Health Care (UMMHC).  UMMHC is an integrated delivery network (IDN) with meaningful use attestation efforts occurring at both the EH and EP levels. Rick has served as Chief Information Officer at several community Hospitals each awarded the “Most Wired” designation and in 2010 HealthAlliance Hospital, Inc. being recognized by HIMSSANALTICS as a stage 6 organization in the EHR adoption model.

He has implemented multiple enterprise-wide applications. Each of his organizations being recognized by the American Hospital Association and Hospitals & Health Network’s magazine as “Most Wired” and Top 25 “Most Wireless” hospital.  

Mr. Mohnk presents nationally including HIMSS, (iHT) Institute for Health Technology Transformation, Siemens Innovations, National Health Data Management Conference, National Conference on Mobile Infrastructure and the Medical Records Institute Summit.  

Rick lives in Ashburnham, MA with his wife, Connie.  They have two daughters, Allie and Amanda. In his leisure time, Rick enjoys golf, home improvement efforts, walking his two golden retrievers and community service activities.
