Alan Wild VP HR, Employee Relations and Engagement IBM
Alan Wild is Vice President of Human Resources, Employee Relations and Engagement reporting to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Diane Gherson. He is responsible for IBM’s employee relations and employee engagement strategies and practices.
Alan joined IBM in January 2011. Prior to his current role, he his responsibilities for employee relations and engagement with the role of Vice President of Human Resources for IBM’s Global Technology Services business employing almost a half of IBMs global workforce.
Prior to joining IBM, Alan’s career involved three elements.
· As an HR executive in major international companies where he became the Employment Policy Director of Guinness’ worldwide operations. Prior to that Wild worked with GrandMet, ITT and Land Rover;
· As HR Director and member of the Director General’s senior executive team at the International Labour Organisation in Geneva, a part of the United Nations family; and
· As the Managing Partner of a consulting company providing strategic employee relations support to around 300 major international companies in addition to intergovernmental organizations including the United Nations, the International Red Cross, the European Union and the Global Fund.
Alan has worked, or undertaken significant human resource projects, in around 90 countries in East, West and Central Europe, North, Central and South America, Africa, the Middle East and throughout Asia. In his career to date he has been based in various locations in Europe, North America and Africa.
Alan is a specialist in international employee and labor relations, employee engagement and human resource strategy. He is author of a number of books in the area of employee relations and business advocacy and taught regularly at major universities in Europe, the United States and Japan. He has represented the business community internationally at the OECD, the ILO, the United Nations and the European Union.
Chelle O’Keefe EVP & CHRO Associa
As executive vice president & chief human resources officer at Associa, O’Keefe is responsible for developing the company’s employee experience strategy, which includes overseeing all aspects of human resources: talent management, internal communications, training and development and employee benefits for Associa’s more than 10,000 team members worldwide.
O’Keefe joined Associa in 2014 and has prior experience in the finance and healthcare industries. Her career has focused on multiple aspects of employee development, including leadership programs, change management and training. Her expertise is in working with the business to simplify and translate strategy into specific employee actions and behaviors.
O’Keefe has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Capella University.
Darcy Smith VP, Team Development (HR) CustomInk

Darcy is a hands-on communicator with an entrepreneurial spirit and over 20 years of experience leading HR teams, who boosts organizational effectiveness by developing personal and strategic relationships at all levels.

Previously the Vice President of Human Resources at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Darcy received a B. A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Human Resources Management from University at Buffalo and a M.B.A. in Human Resources from Le Moyne College.
Michael Messier EVP and CHRO Excelitas Technologies
Michael Messier is Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Excelitas Technologies, a privately held, global leader in photonics. At Excelitas, he is responsible for creating the company’s global human resources strategy and leading HR and business initiatives that attract, engage, retain and develop a strong global team that enables the company to achieve its growth objectives.
Michael has a long and accomplished HR career, with more than 30 years of experience in the high tech/software/telecommunications/electronics industries. As an innovator who has demonstrated success in aligning the mission of HR with the mission of the business, he has served in senior leadership roles such as Global Vice President, Human Resources at Starent Networks/Cisco Systems, Vice President, Human Resources at Monster Worldwide, Vice President, Human Resources at Progress Software, Vice President, Global Human Resources at Rational Software/IBM, and Vice President Global Human Resources at Open Market. Additionally, Michael has held senior level HR management and compensation positions at Pure/Atria Software, Stratus Computer, Agfa Compugraphic and Charles River Laboratories.
Michael holds an MBA from Rivier University and a Bachelor of Science degree in HR Management from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Human Resources Leadership Forum (HRLF), a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and a past adjunct faculty member at Bentley University.
Robin Miller VP, People Strategies Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina
Robin Miller is the Vice President of People Strategies for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. She has over 25 years of experience in the field of Human Resources in both the public and private sectors. In addition, she spent several years as a Community College Instructor. She joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina in 1994 in the staffing area and has held increasingly responsible positions in Talent Management and HR Business Partnerships. Currently, she is responsible for leading the areas of Organizational Development, Performance Management, Succession Management, Diversity and Work Life Programs and the HR Partner Relationship. In addition, she is the liaison for the company’s on-site back-up child care center. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Most recently, she has been responsible for developing programs in Change Management to accelerate the organization’s ability to adapt to business changes.
In addition, she has developed programs to build a diverse talent pipeline for succession such as summer internships, rotational development programs and accelerated development for mid level and senior level leaders. She works with her team to develop a strong workplace culture of creativity, collaboration, caring and commitment.
In addition, she is active in her community. She is currently a board member with Dress for Success NC with a mission to promote economic independence of disadvantaged women.
