Robert Downing is the Chief Financial Officer for Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Tennova Health Care. Robert has more than 10 years of healthcare experience with multiple hospitals throughout the South East. His responsibilities include all financial and operational departments within the hospitals. He has been instrumental in embedding Lean/Six Sigma into the culture of healthcare in order to improve the patient experience, increase hospital financial performance and embedding change acceleration to increase high reliability and accountability with patient processes. He has been instrumental in implementing key supply chain initiatives savings for multiple hospitals saving millions of dollars, while also reducing patient throughput but 80% in ER, Patient Access, Lab and many other areas in order to increase patient volume. He has a bachelor in Business Communications and a Masters of Business Administration.
Donna Littlepage SVP, Transformation & CFO Carilion Clinic Physicians
Donna Littlepage is the Chief Financial Officer of Carilion Clinic Physicians as well as being heavily involved in Carilion’s work with Population Health Management and how this will transform healthcare. In her roles with Carilion Clinic over the past twenty-four years, she has had financial responsibility for hospitals, physician groups, transportation services, retail pharmacy and revenue cycle. She currently has oversight for the financial activity of a 600+ provider group, associated physician billing and the Carilion health plans. In addition, she is a Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association as well as member of their National Advisory Council. She also earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Virginia Tech and is a Certified Public Accountant. She serves on the board of several not-for-profit healthcare organizations in and around Roanoke, Virginia.
Dr. Margaret Peterson President California Hospital Medical Center
Margaret R. Peterson, PhD, was just recently appointed as President of California Hospital Medical Center a Dignity Health organization located in Los Angeles, California. Prior to this appointment, she was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Desert Valley Hospital (DVH) and Desert Valley Medical Group (DVMG) in Victorville, CA for the past five years. She has extensive experience in hospitals throughout the Country and spent numerous years in academia as a Professor and Chairman of a baccalaureate nursing program. She has been honored by several organizations for her community leadership and named as 2005 Woman of the Year by the 38th Assembly District of the California State Legislature. She was a member of the Rotary Club of Victorville and member of the Board for the Victorville Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Peterson also served as Chair of the Victorville Chamber of Commerce Legislative Action Committee, the Chairman of the Inland Empire Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) Emergency Services Committee, the Vice-Chair of the Emergency Medical Care Committee, County of San Bernardino and member of the Board for the Hospital Association of Southern California.
Larry McElroy VP, Finance Physician Network Operations Che Trinity Health
Mr. Larry McElroy has been the Vice President Finance of CHE Trinity Health Physician Network Operations since April 2011.
Mr. McElroy has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. His CFO expertise spans Hospitals, Physician Groups, Home Care Facilities, and Long-Term Care organizations. His current position at CHE Trinity Health oversees the physician network comprised of 5,000 providers in over 650 multi-care practice locations owned by hospital systems in twenty-one states. The annual operating revenue of $1.3 billion has a physician service mix of 50% Primary Care providers, 15% Hospital Based groups, and 35% in Specialty Care Departments. Prior to joining Trinity Health Larry was the CFO for University Hospitals Medical Group which consisted of 900 teaching faculty in a multi-specialty group.
Mr. McElroy received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Dyke College, Cleveland and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Finance from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland. He has a Certified Public Accountant license and is a member of HFMA and MGMA associations.
Tom Lowry Vice President of Finance Physician Integration Dignity Health
Currently, Tom is Vice President of Finance for Dignity Health’s enterprise wide physician integration efforts. These efforts include a number of strategic initiatives focused on strengthening Dignity Health as a fully integrated delivery system in the markets it serves.
Tom joined Dignity Health as CFO of Dignity Health Medical Foundation (DHMF) in September 2011 and served in that capacity through August 2014. As Chief Financial Officer, he oversaw Accounting, Financial Analysis, Business Intelligence and Patient Financial Services for DHMF, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dignity Health. DHMF operates over 70 medical clinics through-out California. The multi-specialty clinics are staffed by approximately 650 licensed providers contracted through professional service agreements with four professional corporations.
Tom began his career in healthcare in 1987 as a Sr. Accountant. Since then, Tom has served in progressive managerial roles in Financial Operations and Business Development. He has served as the Chief Financial Officer of Sutter owned Managed Care Systems, Sutter Connect and Physicians Foundation at CPMC (a Sutter medical foundation in San Francisco).
Tom is a healthcare innovator. He has been instrumental in integrating disparate healthcare organizations from the design and implementation of specialty capitation programs for Sutter Physicians Alliance (a collaboration of Sutter IPA and Sutter Medical Group) to the planning and implementation of Sutter’s shared services organization – Sutter Connect. Tom has a passion for integrating healthcare delivery, is exceptionally collaborative and has an excellent grasp of the economics of physician practice, IPAs, hospitals and health plans.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and Masters of Accountancy from the University of Montana. He is a Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association, member of MGMA and has served on numerous community service boards and committees.

Lloyd Vaughan is President and CEO of VHC, Inc, a healthcare revenue cycle solution provider. Mr. Vaughan founded the business in 1996, after more than twenty years as a hospital and healthcare system CFO. He is a CPA, an HFMA Fellow and an active participant in the healthcare financial community. He served as a Board member of HFMA and Chapter President.
VHC provides services to more than 250 hospitals, helping them enhance cash flow and improving compliance. Services include revenue recovery, HIM consulting, and software to manage charge capture and contract compliance.

As a program and practice administrator, Kyle has over twenty years of experience in the cardiovascular and healthcare administrative fields. He is recognized nationally as a leader in the areas of practice management, billing and reimbursement, program development, and health care services and facilities marketing. Kyle lectures on issues pertaining to these topics at professional society meetings and industry sponsored symposiums.
Kyle has served as Vice President, Clinical Operations, for Main Line Health in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, and was responsible for programmatic strategy and operations for a comprehensive, multi-hospital integrated cardiovascular program. Kyle was also responsible for the strategic growth and development of Thoracic Surgery, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Endocrinology, Stroke Services and Robotic Surgery programs. He provided executive leadership for Imaging, Pharmacy, and Laboratory Services for Main Line Health’s hospitals, outpatient health centers, clinical areas and programs.
Prior to his arrival at Main Line Health, Kyle served as Executive Director, Cardiovascular Services, for the Yale-New Haven Hospital and Health System. Kyle was responsible for the implementation of the Yale-New Haven Heart Center, an integrated cardiac care delivery model involving Yale-New Haven Hospital, physicians from Yale University School of Medicine and the broader New Haven community, and physicians at other regional hospitals. Kyle also was responsible for major clinical services lines in Neurosciences, Orthopedics and Digestive Diseases. Kyle has served in departmental leadership roles with The Penn State Geisinger Health System – Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and The University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center.
