Francis (Frank) Richards Francis Richards is Senior Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, Geisinger Health System. Mr. Richards is responsible for all aspects of information technology for the system, including strategic planning, IT integration with key business initiatives, establishing enterprise-wide IT standards, and proactive staff development. Information Technology is currently responsible for all applications, technology, and telecommunications for the entire enterprise. The department has more than 550 IT professionals supporting approximately 70 sites in northeastern and central Pennsylvania. Mr. Richards is also responsible for the departments of Health Information Management, Medical Transcription Services, Technology Education and the Health Sciences Library. Prior to this role, Mr. Richards served as vice president for Information Technology, Penn State Geisinger System Services. He earned a bachelor of science in chemistry from Juniata College and did post-graduate work in biochemistry at Ohio State University. Mr. Richards is also a member of the professional organization Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). |
